Virginia Ann Davis, 85, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, September 13 at Salem Place Nursing Home in Conway, Arkansas. Virginia was born on November 26, 1937, to James Berry and Maude Floyd in Yellville, Arkansas.

After Virginia graduated from Little Rock High School in 1955, she pursued a degree in English at Drury College and the University of Arkansas. After graduation, Virginia worked as a teacher in Harrison, Des Arc, and Bigelow, Arkansas as well as Phoenix, Arizona.

She married Bill Davis, whom she met during her years at the University of Arkansas, in 1962. Virginia and Bill made their home on Crow Mountain near Atkins, Arkansas for most of their married life. More recently, Virginia lived in Morrilton, Arkansas.

Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, William Garland Davis, Jr.; parents, James Berry and Maude Floyd; and, sister, Madeline Carson.

Virginia is survived by nieces, Linda Carson Johnson and Cynthia Carson of Atlanta, Georgia.

A short memorial gathering will be held at Bowden Cemetery on Monday, June 18 at 10:00 am under the direction of Lemley Funeral Service of Atkins.
