Private Henry A. Beidler, a farmer from Chester Valley; enlisted at age 22 on October 19, 1861 in Company K, 97th Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry for 3 years. He reenlisted as a veteran at Fernandina, Florida on March 16, 1864, to date from February 29, 1864, and was wounded in the thigh during the action at Green Plains, Bermuda Hundred., Virginia on May 20, 1864. He was absent at muster out; at the Convalescent Hospital since July 28, 1864 and is supposed to have died.] From the "History of the Ninety-seventh regiment, Pennsylvania volunteer infantry", By Isaiah Price.

Believed to had died at the Tenth Corps. Hospital around August 1864 and later reburied at the City Point National Cemetery as an "Unknown"
