Mrs. Ann Elkins Currens, 76, of Frederick, died Tuesday, July 22, at College View Nursing Center.

She was the wife of Ralph Edward Currens Sr., who died in 1990.

Born Aug. 20, 1926, in Frederick, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Edward and Rebecca Elkins.

Mrs. Currens was a member of St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church in Frederick.

She enjoyed yard sales and was an avid gardener. She was a member of the Casual Garden Club and the Saturday Night Social Club.

She is survived by three sons, Ralph Edward Currens Jr. and wife Janice of Taneytown, Michael Joseph Currens and wife Leigh of Frederick, and Christopher Joseph Currens of Frederick; one brother, Joseph E. Elkins Jr. and wife Anne of Frederick; two sisters, Sister Mary Rebecca of Baltimore, and Rebecca E. Bowers and husband James of Frederick; four grandchildren, Helen Staley Currens, Marian Catherine Currens, Robin Elkins Currens and Hannah Delano Currens; and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 24, at Robert E. Dailey & Son Funeral Home, 1201 N. Market St., Frederick, where the family will receive friends from 1 to 8 p.m.

Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, July 25, at St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, 116 E. Second St., Frederick.

The family requests that memorial contributions be made to St. John's Cemetery Fund, c/o St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, 116 E. Second St., Frederick, Md. 21701.
