Ralph George Wiles, age 94, of Dixon, was born September 16, 1928, at Brinktown, a son of Gideon Thurman and Lula Roxie (Green) Wiles, and passed from this life Tuesday, September 12, 2023, in Capital Region Medical Center, Jefferson City.

On August 8, 1947, at Fort Riley, Kansas, Ralph entered active federal service in the United States Army and was honorably discharged on December 5, 1947, at Fort Lawton, Washington, at the rank of Private First Class, (PFC), earning a World War II Victory Medal. A man of excellent character, Ralph's "Honorable Discharge" is a testimony of selfless and faithful service to his country.

He was united in marriage April 2, 1950, at Vienna, to Bonnie Maxine Albertson, and to this union, seven children were born.

Ralph accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and was baptized early in life. At the time of his passing, he was a member of the Victory Hill Baptist Church, near Dixon, and a member of the American Legion Post #12, Vienna. Ralph was an avid outdoorsman with a green thumb, who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening. He was always in a good mood and ready to hear or tell a good joke at any time.

After his honorable discharge from the United States Army, Ralph continued his working career at Fort Leonard Wood with the Union as a heavy equipment operator for 35 years, he was a Deputy Sheriff with the Maries County Sheriff's Department for twelve and half years, and a custodian at Maries R-1 School, Vienna, for four years.

Those left to celebrate the life of Ralph include: his six sons, Larry Wiles and wife, Beverly, of Dixon, Ronnie Wiles and wife, Debbie, of Iberia, Mike Wiles and friend, Joy James, of Eugene, Randy Wiles and wife, Alice, of Dixon, Darryl Wiles and wife, Kelly, of Dixon, and Jamie Wiles and wife, Becky, of Freeburg; a grandson as a son, Donovan Wiles, of the home in rural Dixon; twenty-one grandchildren; thirty-five great-grandchildren and two more on the way; five great-great-grandchildren and one more on the way; nephews, nieces, with great and great-greats as well; many other relatives; and a host of friends.

Ralph was preceded in death by his loving wife of 72 years, Bonnie, on November 10, 2022; one daughter, Brenda Carol Carter on June 27, 2009; two grandsons, Jason Douglas Dake on May 24, 2006, and Martin Wayne Wiles on October 26, 2014; his siblings, Wilburn Wiles on April 1, 1988, infant brother Thurman A. Wiles on September 11, 1917, infant sister Mary Ruth Wiles on April 26, 1926, Jasper Wiles on March 25, 2010, Louise Faulkner on January 1, 2017, and Thelma Bade on June 2, 2009.

Visitation for Mr. Ralph Wiles will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Thursday, September 14, 2023, in the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, 406 S. Main Street, Vienna, Missouri 65582, and from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., Friday, September 15, 2023, in the Victory Hill Baptist Church, 40658 Hwy DD, Dixon, MO 65459, with his funeral service following at 11:00 a.m. in the church with Rev. Dennis Nichols officiating under the direction of Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, Vienna.

Interment with full Military Honors for Mr. Ralph Wiles will be at 1:30 p.m., in the Lambeth Cemetery, near Vienna. Pallbearers for Mr. Ralph Wiles will be Curtis Wiles, Aaron Wiles, Donovan Wiles, Jimmy Wiles, Boone Wiles, and Blake Wiles. Honorary Pallbearers will be Brandon Wiles, Jon Wiles, Zeb Wiles, Jason Lawson, Chris Cicero, Jason Dake, and Martin Wiles.
