W C Plemmons was Wiley C. Plemmons sometimes spelled as Wyley and/or Plemons. Wiley was born in Buncombe County, North Carolina and married Martha E. Kincaid who was born 04 Dec 1840 in Georgia and died 21 Dec 1868 (Martha married 2nd A. P. Casada). They resided in Georgia together with their three sons, William Robert, John Calhoun, Miles Macafee, and Andrew Jackson Plemmons.

Wiley was a Confederate soldier during the Civil War enlisting on 22 Feb 1862. He was a Private and was wounded 02 Jul 1863 at Gettysburg suffering a ball to the breast area. He was taken to Plank's Farm and then transferred to DeCamp General Hospital on Davids Island, NY. He died on 06 Aug 1863 from the wounds suffered at Gettysburg and is listed as killed in battle. Several of his service documents are included in the file of his cousin W. H. (William Hood) Plemmons. Wiley served in the 11th Regiment, Georgia Infantry in Company F.
