Military Services for John Patterson

More than 200 persons attended the funeral services for John Patterson, 63, a Civil War veteran, yesterday afternoon at the Leonard Ruoff Funeral Parlors, Ozone Park.

The Rev. James Buchanan of the Woodhaven Congregational Church officiated. Among the mourners were a handful of men of the Flushing Post, G.A.R., of which the deceased was a member. A large delegation from Yew Tree Lodge, F.& A.M., also attended.

A squad of soldiers from Fort Hamilton, Brooklyn, will attend the burial services this noon in the National Cemetery in Cypress Hills. A rifle squad will fire a volley of shots over the veteran's grave and a bugler will play "Taps."

Patterson died Thursday at his home 95-40 105th St., Ozone Park.

During the Civil War he served under Union colors with the New York Volunteers. He is survived by a wife and two sons.
