Georgia Alma (Yarbrough) Bowen, a resident of Weleetka, was born on July 1, 1911 near Kiowa, Oklahoma to Vurna Phine (Lindley) Yarbrough and Charley Garfield Yarbrough. She died Saturday, March 29, 2003 in Weleetka, Oklahoma at the age of 91 years, 8 months and 28 days. She was married to Mack Bowen in Weleetka on August 25, 1928.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Mack Bowen, a daughter, Frieda Griffin, a sister, Marie Griffin, two brothers, Carbon Yarbrough, and Claude Yarbrough.
Georgia is survived by her daughter, Ruth Huddleston and husband, Carroll, of Weleetka; a son Bob Bowen, Texas; eight grandchildren, three sisters, Vada DeArmond, Weleetka; Delphia McKinney, Pharoah; and Velma Lewis, Odessa, Texas; one brother Ulysse "Shorty" Yarbrough and wife Kathy, Pharoah; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services will be held Tuesday, April 1, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. at Shurden Chapel in Henryetta. Keith Street & Rev Charles Jackson, officiating.
