Robert served as a Tech. Sergeant, Company B, 115th Infantry, 29th Infantry Division, U.S. Army during World War II.

He resided in Washington County, Maryland prior to the war.

He enlisted in the Maryland National Guard on February 3, 1941, prior to the war, in Hagerstown, Maryland. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being employed in the fabrication of metal products and also as Married.

Robert was "Killed In Action" in France during the war and was awarded the Purple Heart.

Robert also has a cenotaph in Rest Haven Cemetery in Hagerstown. It was placed by his wife Virginia.
