OBITUARY HENRY PENMAN

WEST WEBER - Henry Penman, 69, active LDS church and civic leader and Sexton
in the West Weber cemetery for 25 years, died in an Ogden hospital today at 2:15 AM after a four year illness.

Mr. Penman was born November 6, 1880 in West Weber, a son of James and Barbara Colville Penman. He had always resided in West Weber.

In LDS church work, he served as a missionary to the North Western States from 1912 to 1914, was an officer in various organizations and was counselor to Bishop George A. Heslop for 17 years. He was later a member of the High Council of North Weber Stake. He was a member of the Ward and stake, genealogical committees. He was a high priest at time of death.

For five years he served as road supervisor of West Weber district, and was a director of the Hooper Irrigation Company for several years. When a young man he was employed by the Amalgamated Sugar Company.

On September 2, 1903, he married Annie Gibson in the LDS Salt Lake Temple.

Surviving are his widow and the following sons and a daughter: Elmer H., J. Andrew, Melvin J., and Robert W. Penman West Weber, and Mrs. Archie L (Viola) Roberts, Garland; 12 grandchildren and the following brothers and sisters: David, Robert, Charles and Mary Penman, West Weber.

Services will be conducted Friday at 1 PM at the LDS West Weber Chapel by Bishop C. Milton Farr. Burial will be in the West Weber cemetery, directed by the mortuary, 3408 Washington, Ogden.
