Funeral services are being conducted at LaFayette this afternoon for James Pinckney Moss; prominent 71-year-old resident of South Christian, who passed away Sunday after an illness of several months.

Services were conducted at the LaFayette cemetery by the Rev. Leslie B. Crane, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, and the Rev. George L. Warren, pastor of the Methodist Church at LaFayette.

Mr. Moss was born in Christian County on April 7, 1875, a son of Thomas L. Moss and Queen McKenzie Moss, and spent his entire life in this community. He farmed in South Christian for a number of years and served as rural mail carrier out of LaFayette for from 12 to 15 years. He retired from active work in 1940.
