James Merle Kingrea, 68, of Christiansburg, died Thursday, April 10, 2008. He is survived by his mother, Mary Lou Kingrea, of Dublin; daughter, Patti K. Palmer, of Fairlawn; sons and daughter-in-law, Danny L. Kingrea and his wife, Terry D. and David W. Kingrea, all of Christiansburg. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Daryl W. Palmer, Christopher L. Kingrea, both of Christiansburg, Candace K. Dowdy and her husband, Thomas C., of Blacksburg, Seaira C. Kingrea and Daniel M. Kingrea, both of Roanoke; great-grandchildren, Destiny N. Kingrea, Brooklynne M. Dowdy and Zachary T.L. Dowdy; one brother, Earl Eugene Kingrea, of Mt. Airy, N.C.; and one sister, Barbara K. Embert and her husband, Robert, of North Carolina; two special friends, Mike Richardson and Freddie Richardson, both of Christiansburg; and several nieces and nephews also survive. Friends may call anytime after 12 noon Saturday, April 12, 2008, at The Horne Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 13, 2008, in The Horne Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Lane Board and Mr. Donnie Board officiating. Interment will follow in Huffville Cemetery, Floyd, County. The family would like to express a special thank you to the staff at English Meadows Nursing Home and Adventa Hospice for the care given. The Kingrea family is being served by Horne Funeral Service, Christiansburg, Va.
