Wilda M. Chandler, age 88, of Greeneville died Friday, September 8, 2023 at Life Care Center of Greeneville.

She is a member of Lighthouse Assembly of God and also proud to be one of the oldest founding members.

Mrs. Chandler was born and grew up in the St. James Community. She loved singing and bringing a smile to everyone's face. Quilting and bird watching were her most favorite activities and she always looked forward to her family reunion each year.

She enjoyed getting together and sharing a meal with her group of friends called the Merry Widows. Mrs. Chandler was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

Survivors include her two daughters and sons-in-law: Teresa and David Idell and Rhonda and Barry Carter; two granddaughters: Lana and Jody Brown and Shanna Carter and Bob Trusty; three special great grandchildren: Kyleigh Crawford, Kennedy Brown, and Reagan Brown; several special nieces and nephews and cousins; and all of her Merry Widow Friends.

Mrs. Chandler is preceded in death by her husband: Anderson "R.K." Chandler; a son: Randy K. Chandler; parents: Major M. and Zela May Neas Shelton; siblings: Berla Lamb, Nolan Shelton, and Carroll Shelton.

Everyone is asked to meet by 10:00 am Tuesday at Doughty-Stevens Funeral Home to go in procession for the 11:00 am graveside service at GreeneLawn Memory Gardens. Rev. Bob Brown and Rev. Richard Long will be officiating.
