David T. Rush was born in Washington, PA, on August 26, 1933, to parents Collins and Esther Swan Rush. He passed away September 6, 2023 at the age of 90.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters; Patty, Arlene and Delores; and brother; Collins, Jr. Daughters; Bobbe Susan Rush-Brown, Betsy Patricia Rush-Kron and Son; Michael Larry Rush; Two grandsons Thomas Jeffrey Rush and Brice Bobby Kron.
He retired from the USAF after 20 years of service. He served at Kelly AFB, San Antonio, TX; Tachikawa AFB, Japan; James Connally AFB, Waco, Texas; Bergstrom AFB, Austin, TX; Osan AFB, Japan; Altus AFB, Altus, Oklahoma; and ending at Elmendorf AFB, Anchorage, Alaska. Afterward, because of his logistics experience in the Air Force, he worked for SOHIO/BP Oil Companies on the "North Slope" of Alaska at Prudhoe Bay as one of their buyers until his ultimate retirement.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Barbara; Daughter Kelley J. Warren (Jesse) of Fredericksburg, Texas; Two Sons; David T. Rush, Jr of Wasilla, Alaska and Jeffrey L. Rush ( Imelda) of Anchorage, Alaska; eleven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
The family will greet friends on Wednesday, September 20th from 9 to 10 A.M. in the chapel of the Schaetter Funeral Home, Fredericksburg with military honors and a funeral service at 10 A.M.
Graveside services and interment will follow in the Cook Walden Forest Oaks Cemetery, Austin, Texas at 2:30 P.M. on Wednesday, September 20th
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Saint Jude Children's hospital, Saint Mary's School Endowment, ASPCA or charity of choice.
