Ralph was a son of the late William and Bessie Swearingen Chaney.
He was a carpenter working in the area of building construction; a member of Soloyome Lodge # 123 F.& A.M. and of the Caprenter's Union.
Surviving included a daughter and son; two grandchildren; a stepdaughter; his sister, Orra Harrington of Healdsburg; and brother, Vernon of Sebastopol.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Ralph Emerson Chaney, Jr who died in WW II; and by two brothers, William and Claude.
