Dorothy Wilson Hamilton Claxon
1925-2023

Dorothy Claxon, 98, of Grayson, KY passed away Friday, September 1, 2023, at Kingsbrook Lifecare Center in Ashland, KY.

She was born in Owen County, KY a daughter of the late Herman and Clara Alice Steger Wilson. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by both her husbands, Otis Hamilton and Glen Claxon; and two sons, Billy and Ricky Hamilton.

Dorothy was of the Baptist faith and had attended the Salem Missionary Baptist Church on Lost Creek. Dorothy had several different jobs. Early on she had worked at King Records in Cincinnati, OH, then sales, farming, and owner of Dot's Thrift Shop.

She is survived by a daughter, Teresa Jewell, of Walton, KY; a step-son, Curtis ( Jeanie) Claxon of Grayson, KY; seven step-daughters, Clara Carpenter of Wurtland, KY, Phyllis Sizemore of Lloyd, KY, Geraldine (Paul) Bare of Raceland, KY, Elaine (Mort) Carper of Grayson, Ky, Shelia (Bud) McCoy of Grayson, KY, Glenna (Chris) Greenslade of Greenup, KY Kathy (Tim) Carper of Grayson, KY; a special friend, Lesia Horsley; several grandchildren, great-grandchildern, relatives and friends.

A graveside service will be conducted at a later date.
