EAST LIVERMORE - Calvin A. Smith, 76, passed away on Thursday, August 31, 2023 at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston. Calvin was born on February 4, 1947, the son of the late Clinton and Mary (Schmitt) Smith.

Calvin had many jobs in his life, but most will remember him for delivering their newspaper in the we hours of the morning. He was also known for his butchering with Leroy and later with Jake. Towards the end of his working years, Calvin enjoyed working with Jurgen and Tom at Kent's Hill school in the kitchen.

There was never a quick trip anywhere with Calvin, he would start a conversation with a stranger just as quickly as he would a friend. He was always the storyteller, and he definitely perfected this art. He brought an energy to the room that can never be duplicated. He will be missed but never forgotten by the people that had the pleasure of knowing him. As his brother Kenny said, "he was a legend".

He is predeceased by his parents, his daughter Katrina and his sister, Debra.
