Gene was proceeded in death by two dedicated and wonderful wives. Coleen Wade Lovell and Mary Ann Pate-Lovell.
Gene worked for the Louisville and Nashville Railroad for over 40 years. He was a devoted member of the Earlington United Methodist Church. He was a Mason and member of the Nortonville Masonic Lodge for almost 70 years. He coached Youth baseball in Madisonville for many years.
Gene enjoyed dancing of all types. He even square danced in the New Orleans Louisiana Superdome. He was a University of Kentucky sports fan. Gene loved to drink coffee and swap tales with his friends at The Market Place in Madisonville. And most of all, Gene was kind and caring to his family and friends. He was always there to help others.
He is survived by his son Gary Lovell (Leigh Baldwin), grandson Corey Lovell (Courtni) and Alex Baldwin and four great grandchildren Noa Kate, Cain, Nori and Greyson.
A private service will be held at the gravesite.
