Louella was a native of Haywood County but resided in Buncombe also for a few years. She was a daughter of the late James William and Eva Louise Singleton Thompson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, R.O. Pressley, who died in 1996; five sisters; and six brothers. Louella was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church and loved her Lord with all her heart. Her joy in life was canning and giving away her canned goods and spending time with her family.
She is survived by a daughter, Gloria Hope Pressley of Canton; two sons, Steven Ray Pressley (Pat) of Candler and Allan Reid Pressley (Linda) of Etowah; five grandchildren, Anthony Parker, Tanya Parker, Elizabeth Conner, Cindy Pressley Brooks, and Zachery Pressley; four great-grandchildren, Jerron Parker, Kendall Bethea, Dayshia Parker, and Leah Pressley; eight great-great-grandchildren; and three special nieces, Naomi Stuart, Wanda Rose Gorman, and Ann Riddle.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 1, 2023, in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Eddie Deitz officiating. Burial will follow at Ridgeway Baptist Church Cemetery.
