Poem written by his daughter Brigid:

—My Dad —
Engaged teacher flipping dirty desks
Encouraging students to do their best
Toy lover (both for him and the kids)
Scouring the aisles for treasures soon to be his
Bringer of college care packages with all the treats
Mac and cheese, Chex mix, and lots of sweets
Spoiler of the grand-dogs — milk bones galore!
Always while saying "just one more"
The greatest of Papas and the greatest of Dads
Always so much more fun to be had
The journey continues - adventure awaits, but for a moment we will pause and gain strength
There's a battle ahead, but we're in it to win it
As a team we will fight and see this thing to the finish
Where new memories, adventures, and fun do await
We will hug, laugh, and smile, and more memories make
— We Won —
My dad is a champ who fought with all his might.
Not letting the hardest battles dampen his light.
It is all of us that win in the end.
For having called him Dad, Brother, Husband,
Papa, Teacher, Friend.
We cherished every moment of having him near.
And it's okay to cry when you lose someone so dear.
But he would want us to look forward and live.
A life that is full with a heart ready to give.
Life full of adventure.
Life full of love.
We carry him with us.
We feel him above.
We were his pride. We were his joy.
His family, wife, children - grandgirl and grandboys.
We'll take care of each other.
Continue to make him proud.
We'll embrace every moment.
And live life out loud.

Written by Rachel Clemens:

Our family said goodbye to our father and grandfather, Patrick Clemens, on Monday.
He was a collector - of comic books, action figures, Charlie Brown, and Green Bay Packers gear. He passed this on to Justin and they would go collecting together. To this day, Justin still walks down the toy aisle anytime we're in Target, just like his dad did.
He was a teacher - not just in his career but also in his day-to-day life. He retired from teaching elementary school after 30 years and then volunteered himself into a second career at the local food bank. By the time he left, he was running the place and teaching others how to do so.
He was the BEST gift giver - whether it was 40 Cadbury eggs at Easter (yes, 40!), Packers and Badger gear for the boys, money for a "dinner out," Roblox gift cards for Bay, or pop-up cards, the gifts were always a surprise and always a pleasure. Giving was innate to who he was and there is no one better at it though he did pass his talents on to Justin and Brigid.
He was love.
He was ours.
He is missed.
