Funeral services for Cloma H. Maxwell of McMinnville will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 4, in the McMinnville Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Bishop Steve Bernhisel will officiate.
Interment will be conducted at the Willamette National Cemetery in Portland. Arrangements are being handled by Macy & Son Funeral Directors.
Mrs. Maxwell died at home on Thursday, March 27, 2008. She was 85.
Born in Providence, Utah, on May 8, 1922, she was the daughter of Claude M. Hammond and Venna (Chugg) Campbell. She married Charles F. Maxwell on Feb. 10, 1945, in Logan, Utah.
After graduating from the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, she taught elementary school for several years.
She moved to Bountiful, Utah, in 1974 and McMinnville in 1983.
A member of the second ward of the McMinnville LDS church, she enjoyed reading and traveling. "She was intelligent, kind, witty and a life-long Democrat," the family said.
Mrs. Maxwell is survived by a son, Rick Maxwell of Canby; a daughter, Debbie Arguedas of McMinnville; a sister, Elizabeth Brown of Providence, Utah; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband and a brother, Kay Campbell.
