Alice was the daughter of John H. Arthur and Alice Rooney. She was married in 1940 in Kahoka, Mo. to Charles M Davis, he preceeded her in death on March 29, 1979. They had 6 sons, John, James, Charles, Francis,Thomas & William and 1 daughter, Mary Alice. She had 16 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. She was preceeded in death by 8 brothers and 6 sisters. She had been the mayor of Alexandria Mo. for several years and was committee chairman of the Democratic Party. She was a member of All Saints Catholic Church in Keokuk. She grduated from St. Peters high School.
