Lou Emma King, age 46 of Centerburg died Monday, April 7, 2008 at her home. She was born on June 17, 1961 in Cincinnati to the late Elmer and Margaret Hatfield. Lou moved to Centerburg in 1998 from Sunbury and had worked as a nursing assistant for the Morning View Care Center in Condit. She collected cows and according to her family, they were everywhere. She enjoyed solving crossword puzzles and collecting baseball and football cards. Lou was all about family and the activities of her children and grandchildren. At time she could be a drill sergeant, never judgmental, was a good listener, possessed compassionate qualities and enjoyed an ornery sense of humor. Fiercely loyal to her family and friends, she will be remembered for her love of family and her willingness to lend a helping hand. Survived by her husband of 24 years: Joe, sons Randy of Centerburg, Robert (Ann) of Delaware, Kenneth (Stacy) and Jeremy (Tabitha) both of Mt. Vernon, Shawn of News Salisbury, Indiana, and Larry King of Chaplin, Kentucky, 12 Grandchildren, Step-father: James George of Columbus, Sisters: Sandy (John) King of Sunbury, Joyce (Dave) Fletcher of Heath, Brothers: Michael (Boots) Hatfield of Columbus, Charles Hatfield of Centerburg, lifelong friend Lori Hale.
