Professional Football Player. For twelve seasons (1959 to 1970), he played at the cornerback and safety positions in the National Football League with the Los Angeles Rams. Born Eddie Doyle Meador, he was raised in Arkansas where he attended Russellville High School. He enrolled at Arkansas Technical University where he played collegiate football, prior to being selected by the Los Angeles Rams during the 7th round of the 1959 NFL Draft. During the course of his career, Meador distinguished himself as he achieved Pro-Bowl honors six-times and All-Pro status twice. He totaled 163 career regular season games and to date, he holds the Los Angeles Rams career interception record with 46. He was named to the HOF All-1960s Team.
