Peggy Marie Parker, beloved wife of Scott M. Parker Jr. and devoted daughter, mother, grandmother and dear friend, passed away Friday, Oct. 3, 2003. Peggy was born in Temple TX on May 10, 1952 to Bernard H. and Shirley H. MacDonald. She was a graduate of Killeen High School, Class of 1970. Peggy married in 1970 and had two children. In 1983 Peggy embarked on a long and distinguished career in law enforcement. She began as a corrections officer with the Killeen Police Department. She moved to Austin which led to jobs with several jurisdictions, including the Travis County Sheriff's department, the West Lake Hills Police Dept., and the Travis County Constable's Office, Pct. 5. Peggy found her true home when she went to work for the City Of Rollingwood Police Department. Peggy faithfully served the Citizens of Rollingwood for 15 dedicated years. She began as a Patrol Officer and eventually was promoted to Senior Sergeant. She was offered a move from the Police Department to the Municipal Court. She was torn between her love of street police work, but intrigued with the prospect of a new and exciting endeavor. Peggy accepted the move and became a Municipal Court Judge. During her tenure as a Judge she remained dedicated and passionate about her work. At the time of her untimely death, she was still proudly serving the Citizens and the City of Rollingwood.
Peggy was preceded in death by her father, Bernard MacDonald in 1982.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 7 at 11am at the First Evangelical Free Church, 4220 Monterrey Oaks Blvd.
