PONTOTOC - Charles Henry Swords I, 80, passed away September 2, 2023, at Baptist Memorial Hospital - Union County, MS. Charles was born on August 14, 1943, in Pontotoc County, MS to Clifford Ted and Anne O'Dean Mask Swords. Charles farmed and worked in the furniture industry and also construction. He loved going to church, spending time with family, fishing, and hunting.

Survivors include his children, Charla Hardin, Amy Grisham (Johnny), Charles Swords II (Amanda), Jennifer Robbins, and Jimmy Swords (Melissa); 12 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Martha Poe Swords; his wife of 3 years, Shara Holley Swords; his son, Milton Swords; and his daughter, Betty Vaughn.

Services will be Tuesday, September 5, 2023, a 2 PM at Tutor Memorial Funeral Home in Pontotoc with Bro. Kenneth Bishop, Bro. Jerry Hooper, and Bro. Mike Daniels officiating. Visitation will begin at 12 PM and continue to service time. Burial will follow in Pleasant Grove Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery, Thaxton, MS.

Pallbearers will be Larry Swords, Terry Swords, Tommy Harmon, Walter Bishop, Jimmy Hudson, and Tommy Nichols.
