Bernard "Barney" was a son of Bernard TRAYNOR, Sr. and Anna ROBINSON. Bernard Sr., a native of Ireland, and Anna, from Manchester, England, were married in Providence, Rhode Island in 1853. They came to Wisconsin about 1856 and raised a large family in Clyman Township, Dodge County.

Barney TRAYNOR, Jr., married Frances M. ZINK of Beaver Dam, and together, they too raised a large family. Barney worked in a foundry and later was an auctioneer. He was a member of Company K, Wisconsin National Guard and served as an Alderman in the City of Beaver Dam in the early 1900s.
