Rozella Catherine Martin known as "Katie" and earlier as "Zella" was the second child of Joseph E. Martin and Mary Jane "Mollie" Leith. They lived in Drexil, MO until Mollie died in 1895. They moved to just South of Guthrie, OK after the Land Rush and lived near Joseph's sister Maggie, who's husband won land in the great race.
Seven miles south of Guthrie is where she met Arthur Jeffrey Burroughs living nearby while caring for his very ill mother. Arthur's brother-in-law, Will Taylor also won land in the Land Rush.
They took a train to Oklahoma City where they were married on 09 Jan 1904. then made their home seven miles south of Guthrie. They had four children, Mabel Angeline Burroughs, Ralph Arthur Burroughs, Kirby Walter Burroughs and Ruth Vivian Burroughs.
Arthur died a young man on 06 Nov 1915 in Dougherty, Murray, OK.
Katie married George Earnest Johnson on the 14th of July 1924 in Oklahoma City, OK.
After the death of George Johnson in 1944 Katie moved to Cranfills Gap, Bosque County, Texas to live near her daughter, Mabel Burroughs Burreson.
The family moved to Waco in 1946. Katie lived near Mabel and her family in Waco until her death on the 17th on June 1959.
