AGE 78 YEARS
John Hugh Banks of Hebron, CT, beloved husband and father, passed away, on August 27, 2023, after a lengthy illness. John grew up in Littleton, MA, the youngest son of the late Percy and Margaret (McGovern) Banks. After earning a BS from Northeastern, he spent his career as a mechanical engineer at Pratt & Whitney Aircraft in Connecticut. He could fix, or build, anything and was also a state-ranked geocacher who relished creating puzzles for other 'cachers. He also loved to travel and was an avid sports fan whose favorite trips were "to the races" around the country with his brothers.
John will be profoundly missed by his wife of 52 years, Judy; his children, Liza of Austin, TX and Hugh of Norwalk; two siblings; in-laws and many extended family members and friends. In addition to his parents; John was predeceased by his eldest brother, Earl.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, September 8, 2023, at 11 am, at St. Peter's Episcopal Church, 30 Church St., Hebron, CT. Burial will follow in St. Peter's Memorial Garden.
