The Peninsula Times Tribune (Palo Alto, CA) 13 Apr 1972, Pg 26:

"Charles Edward Pipgras, 65, a mail clerk at the Hoover Institution at Stanford University, died Monday at his home in Atherton after a sudden illness.
Pipgras was a native of Spokane, Washington, and grew up in Oregon and Northern California. During World War II, he served as an enlisted man with the Navy in the Solomon Islands in the South Pacific. After the war he lived in Daly City until 1952, then moved to 1 Maple Ave., Atherton his last residence.

Pipgras had worked at the Hoover Institution for the past five years. Prior to that he had worked 18 years as a shipping clerk at Juillard Fancy Foods in San Francisco.
Survivors include his son, Frank J. Pipgras, and a granddaughter, (name omitted to protect privacy), both of Atherton. His wife, Grace, died in 1968.
Funeral services were scheduled today at the chapel of Johnston Colonial Mortuary, 750 Live Oak Ave., Menlo Park. Burial will be in Acacia Cemetery, Seattle."
