Samuel C. Morrow Jr., 92, of East Front Street, Danville, died peacefully at Geisinger Medical Center, where he was a patient on Sunday, Aug. 27, 2023.

Born in Danville on Dec. 6, 1930, he was a son of the late Samuel C. and Wealthy (Libby) Morrow.

He was a 1948 graduate of Danville and received a degree in business and finance from Bucknell University in Lewisburg. He maintained a home in Danville for much of his life while living elsewhere.

Sam was a regional manager for Mack Truck Co. and later was employed by UD Truck Division in Irving, Texas.

He was a member of Trinity Church, Danville. He enjoyed traveling throughout the world and the United States, visiting Alaska more than 30 times. He was an avid NASCAR fan and also participated in drag racing. He contributed to many ministries around the world, including in Israel.

Sam proudly served his country while serving with the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War as a meteorologist.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters: Cecelia Evans and Wealthy E. Shutt; and a niece, Jill E. Dent.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 5, 2023, at 1:30 p.m. in the Roat-Kriner Funeral Home, 1133 Bloom Road, Danville. Interment will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery, where military honors will be performed by the honor guard of American Legion Post 40 and the U.S. Air Force.

Viewing will be from 12:30-1:30 p.m.
