Margaret R. "Peg" Benacquista, 84, of Delanson, New York, passed away on Sunday, August 27, 2023 at Baptist Nursing and Rehab in Scotia, NY.

Peg was born on February 19, 1939 in Schenectady, NY, a daughter of Frank and Adeline (Cusano) Ruota. After graduating from High School, she earned 2 degrees, an Associates of Nursing from Adirondack Community College for her RN, and an Associates of Human Services from SCCC. She then went to work for O.D. Heck Developmental Center in Schenectady as the Director of Nursing, a position she held for 25 years.

When she wasn't working, she enjoyed horses, cooking, and traveling following retirement. She especially loved her trips to Maine.

Margaret is survived by her sons: Michael Benacquista, and Mark Benacquista; her grandchildren: Erin Rose, Margaret, and Amy; and her great grandchildren: Mykal-jon, Angelica, Hudson, Adeline, and Vincent.

She was predeceased by her parents.
