A. E. Hamby, 65, 0f 1406 Cook, died in a Houston hospital at 5:40 p.m. Thursday. He had been a resident of Houston 35 years. He was formerly a painting and paperhanging contractor. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Annie Hamby; a sister, Mrs. Clyde Aldrich; a brother, W. G. Hamby, and several nieces and nephews, all of Houston. Funeral services Saturday afternoon at Earthman Funeral Home. Burial in Magnolia Cemetery. Earthman Funerals.

The death certificate of his sister Ida also shows the father as Griffin Hamby, and their brother William Griffin Hamby's death certificate shows his father's name as William Griffin Hamby.
