Danny Hue Elks, 68, of Woodland Mills passed away Friday, September 1, 2023, at his home.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home. Brother Chip Davis will officiate. Burial will follow in Fremont Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Saturday and from 12:00 p.m. until the hour of services Sunday.
Pallbearers will be Chad Elks, Cody Elks, Cory Elks, Matt Elks, Jimmy Elks, Jr., Brandon Adams, Glen Patterson and Barry Cardwell.
Honorary pallbearers will be Roy Wallace, Brady Austin, Katelyn Austin and Hanna Homra.
Memorial contributions may take the form of donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Danny was born August 14, 1955, in Hickman, Kentucky, son of the late Elihue Cleve and Corene (Johnson) Elks. He married Faye (Baggett) Elks May 9, 1975. She survives. Danny retired as a tire builder at the former Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company. Danny enjoyed riding horses and spending time with his family. He was a member of Lake Road Baptist Church.
He is also survived by one daughter, Chastity Homra of Union City; one son, Chad Elks and wife Michelle of Nashville; four grandchildren, Katelyn Austin and husband Brady of Troy, Hanna Homra of Union City and Cory Elks and Cody Elks both of Nashville; two great grandchildren, Dani Kate Austin and Brooks Allen Austin both of Troy; four sisters, Frances Johnson of Henderson, Kentucky, Pearl Dick, Marilyn Bing and Joyce Kuta all of Union City; and one brother, John David Elks of Pahrump, Nevada.
He was also preceded in death by four sisters, Carol Ruth Elks, Patrica Ann Farmer, Donna Haney and Eleanor Johnson; and three brothers, Odis Elks, Robert "Bud" Elks and Jimmy Elks, Sr.
