Ethel Marie Walters, daughter of the late Marion Francis and Harriet Elizabeth (Rose) Hedrick, was born October 5, 1919 in Crocker, Missouri where she grew up and attended school. At the age of 12, Ethel accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her Savior and was baptized at the Old Waynesville Bridge. She was a faithful member of the Crocker Christian Church all of her life.

On October 5, 1935, Ethel was united in marriage to Johnny Edward Walters. They shared many wonderful years of marriage together and were blessed with six children: Patsy, Billy, Bobby, Sharon, Tommy and Ronnie.

Ethel was a hard working woman and took great pride in caring for her family. She was employed with the Iberia Manufacturing Company as a seamstress and later with the Green Thumb organization helping at the Health Department in Crocker as a nursing assistant.

In her spare time, Ethel enjoyed being outdoors; whether it was tending to her garden, working in her flower beds or just enjoying God's creation. She was very good at handwork and loved to sew. Most importantly, she treasured the times that she could spend with her family and friends.
