Enlisted in Company F of the Fourth Michigan Volunteer Infantry on June 20, 1861, for 3 years. Wounded in action on July 1, 1862, at Malvern Hill, Virginia. Wounded in action on December 12, 1862, at Fredericksburg, Virginia. Died in hospital in New York City.
