YELLOW JACK.
Has Broken Out in the Brooklyn Navy Yard.

New York, July 18 -

Yellow fever has broken out at the Brooklyn navy yard. So far three deaths have occurred.

Dr. H. Wyckoff, Assistant Surgeon, admitted to the hospital on the 13th, died on the 17th.
J. Hanford, nurse, admitted on the 15th, died last night.

The following are in the hospital ill with the disease:
W. Flynn, a merchant, admitted on the 12th;
G.T. Olney, admitted on the 12th, and
W. Cornell, a landsman, admitted on the 15th.

The men who have died have been buried in the naval cemetery adjoining the hospital. Of the others, Olney is able to be on his feet, and is likely to recover, though he and his comrade are reported to have had the black vomit. All six of the men were stationed on the receiving ship Vermont, which is at anchor off Cobb dock. The authorities hope to stay the spread of the dreaded disease and measures looking to that end were taken to-day at a special meeting of the Board of Health. The Sanitary Superintendent states that the disease has evidently been developed by the drainage about the bow of the Vermont.
