James Reid Rodney, 91, died at 11:55 p.m. on Wednesday, February 6, 2002 at Herrin Hospital.

Mr. Rodney was born October 6, l9l0 in Herrin to Joseph and Cecelia (Reid) Rodney.

He married Marguerite Reed on December 24, l935 in Herrin, IL.
She survives.

He was a retired coal miner and worked at Old Ben Coal Company No. 24. He was a member of Herrin First Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army and served in WW II. He was a member of UMWA #l345.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 9, 2002 at Johnson Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin, IL. Revs. Paul E. Tirey and Ralph Brandon will officiate. Burial will be at Herrin City Cemetery.
