United States Air Force Captain Turley disappeared on a combat mission over South Vietnam. Nine months later, the wreckage of his aircraft was found and Captain Turley was brought home to his family for burial on October 23, 1967.

Captain Turley 31, was the son of Mr and Mrs Russell L. Turley. Captain Turley graduated from Westport high school and attended Metropolitan Junior College Kansas City. He was a former member of Boy Scout troop No 78 and the tribe of Mic-OSay. Also surviving are his wife, Mrs. Shizuko Turley; five brothers, William Turley, Kenneth Turley, Thomas Turley, Robert Turley, Ronald Turley and his maternal grandmother, Mrs. Pearl Morrison.
