Johnathan Church was born on November 30th 1822 to Nathaniel Church and Mary Ingram in Marlboro, Windham County, Vermont. At the time of his enlistment on December 3rd 1863 and mustered in on January 5th 1864 at Chester, Warren Country, New York. As a Private, Company K, 148th New York Infantry At the time he was married to Ermine S. Church and taking care of a minor, Emma S. Bien. He resided in Chester, New York and his occupation was being a farmer. On October 15th 1864 he passed away at Mc Dougall General Hospital, Fort Schuyler, New York Harbor. His wife applied for a pension, application # 75772 and for the minor application # 114127, certificate # 72535.
