Wife of G. N. Bankston. They were married on May 21, 1856. Parents were Moses McElveen and Elizabeth (or Eliza) (Hall) McElveen.

She drew a letter of dismission and went into the constitution of Terry's Creek Baptist Church January 15, 1871. Her husband Greenie was a minister at Terry's Creek Baptist Church and a farmer.

I was told Nancy was an invalid in later years and attended to by two women that were orphans. One was named Phene (Josephine) Carter. Story is Phene was from a local family that was sent to an orphanage in Jackson. Perhaps she was taken in because Nancy and her family needed someone to help care for her. Another story about her is that she was bedridden for many years. One day when her family was away from the house, they came back unexpectedly to find Nancy walking around out in the garden getting around just fine. She sounds a lot like my grandmother, Lula. My mother always said about her that "she enjoyed poor health" meaning she liked all the attention she received being ill.

Nancy is the mother of Pheriby Elizabeth (Bankston) Prescott buried at the Prescott Cemetery with her husband Willis Prescott. This is a listing of all of their children:

1. Pheriby (Phoebe) Elizabeth Bankston, born September 3, 1857, Pike County, Mississippi
2. Levi Lafayette Bankston, born December 25, 1859, Pike County, Mississippi
3. Julia Margaret Bankston, born September 5, 1862, Pike County, Mississippi
4. Green Young Bankston, born January 19, 1864, Pike County, Mississippi
5. Emily Corine Bankston, born February 12, 1865, Pike County, Mississippi
6. Thomas Jefferson Bankston, born October 26, 1869, Pike County, Mississippi
