MRS. LOU ADAMS, 82, CONDUCTOR'S WIDOW, DIES

Mrs. Lou E. Adams, 82, of 826 East Main street, a resident of Decatur since 1912, died at 11:25 a. m. yesterday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Gavin G. Mitchell. She had been seriously ill for about two weeks as a result of complications that followed a stroke.
Mrs. Adams was the widow of Dawson J. Adams, Wabash conductor here, who died in 1923. She was born Jan. 26, 1863, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Helm, near Muncie, Delaware county, Indiana. She lived in Indiana as a girl and married Dawson Adams in September, 1886. Mr. Adams transferred from his position as conductor with the L. E. & W. railroad to Tipton, Ind. became conductor, for the Wabash here in 1911.
Mrs. Adams leaves one daughter, Mrs. Gavin G. Mitchell, Decatur; a son, Clarence H. Adams, Decatur; four grandchildren, Clarence Mitchell, Indianapolis; Mrs. Ruth Markham, Decatur; Mrs. Martha Hawthorne, Ramsey; and Peggy Hass, Ft. Story, Va. She also leaves a niece, Mrs. Edna Singmaster, Davenport, Iowa.
The body is at the J. J. Moran & Sons funeral home where friends may call. Funeral services will be held at 3 p. m. tomorrow in the chapel. Burial will be in Graceland cemetery.
