Patricia Louise "Pat" Beemer, age 79, of Blue Springs, Mo., went to be with the Lord on April 7, 2008, at the KU Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, April 10, 2008, at Tri-City Baptist Church. Funeral services will take place at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 11, 2008, also at Tri-City Baptist Church (4500 Little Blue Parkway, Independence, Mo.). Burial will follow at Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Kansas City, Mo. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association or to Tri-City Baptist Church- where she held her membership for many years. She trusted Jesus Christ to be her personal Lord and Savior in 1974. Pat was born on April 16, 1928, in Kansas City, Mo., to Forest R. and Maybelle (Stuber) Wood. She attended Paseo High School in Kansas City, Mo., and graduated in 1945. On September 9, 1950, she was united in marriage to Bill Beemer in Independence, Mo. Patricia soon became a mother, as well as the co-founder of Beemer Construction. She loved being a housewife and mother, and enjoyed spending as much time as possible with her children, grandchildren, and great granddaughter. Pat cherished her grandchildren and when they were little, she spent many hours sewing dresses for them and even put her trademark, "Made by Granny" on the tag of each item. She was affectionately known as "Granny" by all of her beloved grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Bill Beemer, in 2001, and her only brother, Patrick Wood, in 1967. Pat is survived by her children: Jim Beemer and wife Joy of Blue Springs, Mo., Gary Beemer of Grain Valley, Mo., David Beemer and wife Christy of Lake Tapawingo, Mo.; grandchildren: Brianna, Andrea, Sherri, Katy, Patty, David Jr., Brittany and Dakota, and great granddaughter Caroline.
