Eliakim Barnum was born about 1812, the son of Ebenezer and Elizabeth (Nash) Barnum. He married Abigail Durgy with whom he had two children, Amy and Walter. Enlisted as private in Company K, 11 Conn Volunteers on 4 Dec 1861; died in New York 4 Aug 1862 of chronic diarrhea. His widow filed for pension on 1 Sep 1862. He is buried in Cypress Hill National Cemetery, Brooklyn, Kings County, New York. See FAG #2584897.
