Funeral services for Mrs. Vera Irene Moore, age 96, will be held at 2 PM on Sunday, September 10, 2017 in the Shelton-Hunt Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Rose Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Moore passed away on Thursday, September 7, 2017 at the Bailey Park Community Living Center in Humboldt.
Irene was born March 6, 1921 in Paris, TN to the late William Polk Steele and Lilly May (Hudson) Steele. She is preceded in death by three brothers, James Thomas “J.T.” Steele, Douglas Steele and Dudley Steele; and two sisters, Elizabeth Steele and Myrtice Steele.
She married Cletus Paul Moore on September 30, 1939 in Atwood, TN.
Mrs. Moore is survived by her husband Cletus Moore of Humboldt; a son Paul Wayne Moore of Humboldt; two daughters, Martha Moore Wolfe of Murfreesboro, TN and Linda Moore (Lyle) Wiggs of Wiley, TX; nine grandchildren, Donna (Tim) Whitehead, Melissa (Leon) Foster and Paula (Tim) Terrell all of Humboldt, Aimee (Michael) Holt of Murfreesboro, TN, Brooks Wolfe of North Carolina, Glenn Sanders, Susan (Marty) Rose, Maggie Hensley Davis and Justin (Jennifer) Hensley all of Texas; nine great grandchildren and nine great-great grandchildren.
