Adamo of 84 05 88 St., Woodhaven, New York, N.Y., has been graduated from nine weeks of Navy basic training at the Naval Training Center here. In the first weeks of his naval
service he studied military subjects and lived and worked under conditions similar to those he will encounter on his first ship or at his first shore station. In making the transition from civilian life to Naval service, he received instruction under veteran Navy petty officers. He studied
seamanship, as well as survival techniques, military drill and other subjects.

On 26 February 1968. YFU-4 was hit by a rocket propelled grenade while in a flotilla proceeding up the Que Viet River to Dong Ha.

The rocket hit the starboard 20mm gun which was maned by GM3 Gary Crampton, SN Taylor, and SN Richard Adamo.

Richard Charles Adamo was a Seaman for the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He died on February 28, 1968 at the age of 19 due to a mortar, rocket, or artillery incident.

KIA were Gary Crampton and Richard Adamo.

WIA were SN Taylor(critical), EN3 Arthur Cockerham(critical), ENFN Danial Love, FN James Jessup,CS David Chatman, Crewman Green,SN Michael McCammond. At the helm was SN Wayne Brill . On the Con Tower was BMC Floyd Scott, and QM2 Robert Sayers.
