"Mary R. Lady, 95, of Brethren Village, Neffsville, died Friday morning at home of natural causes. Formerly of West Chester, she lived at Brethren Village since 1977.
She was an active member of First Presbyterian Church of West Chester and sang in the choir. She played the organ and made quilts at Brethren Village.
A graduate of Linden Hall, Lititz, and the Juilliard School of Music, New York, she taught school for several years in Tamaqua.
Born in Manheim, she was the daughter of the late Harry F. and Mary Helman Ruhl. Her husband, Roy A. Lady, died in 1982.
Surviving are a son, Lawrence I., husband of Joan M. Lady of Canastota, N.Y.; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren."
