Alvah C. Watson, 70 of 3081 Swan Road, died at 6:40 p.m. Wednesday (May 19, 1993) at his home. He was born August 6, 1922, in Byesville, son of the late Emmett and Annie Watson. He was a retired employee of NCR-Cambridge with 23 years of service, an Army veteran of World War II and a Protestant by faith. Mr. Watson was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley E. Reber Watson; a sister, Hazel Hunnell, and three brothers, Herbert Watson, Ernest Watson and Harvey Watson. He leaves two sons, Clesson Watson of Barberton and Forrest Watson of Cambridge; two daughters, Mrs. Wlliam (Jennie) Potter of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; Vicky Hottinger of Guernsey; three brothers, Hershel Watson of Guernsey , Wilburt Watson and Floyd Watson, both of Cambridge; three sisters, Bernice Dudley of Byesville, Floetta Lawton of Kimbolton, Florence Hart of Newcomerstown; 12 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Thorn Funeral Home, where services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday with the Rev. Jim Gross officiating. Military graveside services will be conducted by the Veterans counsil of Guernsey County in Flat Ridge Ceetery, Knox Township.
