A native of Martinsville, Va., he was a member of the Leasburg Hunt Club and Rockingham County Sheriff Association. He retired from Sparks Oil Company, formerly known as Eggleston Brothers Pure Oil Co.
Survivors are two daughters, Carol Stanford of Eden and Brenda Barker of Stoneville; two sons, Johnny Barrow of Eden and Travis Barrow of Gastonia; brother, Ben Barrow of Martinsville, Va.; two sisters, Nancy Frith of Martinsville, Va., Dora Lewis of Stoneville; special friend, Katherine Coley of Yanceyville; 11 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
