Joseph Conrad Beach, 99, of Leesburg, died Friday, April 4, 2008. He was born in Webster and moved to Leesburg in 1942. He and his wife, Susie, owned and operated Beach's Western Store for 10 years at Palm Plaza in Leesburg. He also owned and operated several citrus shops and was a cattleman, watermelon grower and prominent land owner. He is survived by his sister, Doris Rowe of Sumterville; sister-in-laws, Vera Beach of Leesburg and Helen Beach of Okahumpka; several nieces and nephews; and many great and great-great nieces & nephews; most beloved, Linda B. Cordle of Okahumpka and Sylvia Beach Mackey of Vero Beach. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 75 years, Susie Faye Beach of Leesburg; his parents, Joseph Erwin and Lula Lee of Okahumpka; brothers, R.E. Beach of Leesburg and W.L. "Buster" Beach of Okahumpka. Funeral services for Joseph Conrad Beach will be held on today, Tuesday, April 8, 2008 at 2 p.m. at Beyers Funeral Home Chapel in Leesburg with the Rev. Sandy Colley officiating. Family and frieds may call at the funeral home today, Tuesday, April 8, 2008 from 1-2 p.m. Interment will be at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Arrangements have been entrusted to Beyers Funeral Home and Crematory, Leesburg.
