Mrs. Mary E. Wharton aged 81 years, died at her home here Wednesday evening at 9 o'clock after an illness resulting from infirmities induced by advanced age.
She was the widow of Arthur Wharton, who died nine years ago, and who was prominent in business affairs in this vicinity. She is survived by four sons, Alva G., Charles, Danford, and Forest all of Summerfield; three daughters, Mrs. I.O. Pryor and Mrs. V.K. Herlan both of Zanesville, and Mrs. Ina Bates of Summerfield, and two sisters, Mrs. Martha Kent of Summerfield and Mrs. oseph Garrett of Caldwell.
She was a devout member of the M.E. church and a member of the D of U.V.
Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at the M.E. church here, conducted by Rev. Mike Danford. Internment will be made at the Summerfield Cemetery.
